What Is Serial Endpoint Titration (SET)?

How Is the Test Performed?

Testing is done in-office in two stages:

1. Preparation

You’ll be advised to stop taking certain medications (like antihistamines) before testing to ensure accurate results.

2. Skin Testing Procedure

A series of small, shallow injections are made on your arms using ultra-fine needles.
Each site is observed and measured for reactions known as wheals (raised red bumps).
Based on these reactions, your personalized allergy serum is prepared for use in Serial Endpoint Therapy (allergy shots).

Are There Side Effects?

Mild skin irritation is the most common side effect. You may experience:

Small, red, itchy bumps resembling mosquito bites at the test sites
Symptoms typically resolve within 1–2 days and are not harmful
Severe reactions are extremely rare

Follow-Up: Starting Allergy Treatment

After your allergens are identified:

A customized set of allergy serums will be created
You’ll receive weekly or biweekly allergy shots to gradually build immunity
All allergy extracts are preservative-free and require refrigeration
